In a 33-year-old woman, on the trunk (lesion present since birth)

What to see at dermoscopy:

-pigmented network (linear network fragments that resemble hyphal elements)
-multiple hypopigmented areas distributed in a symmetric pattern
-blue-white veil
-blotches
Regular control was suggested
Dermoscopy in favor of congenital melanocytic nevi

-asymmetric reticular pattern
-blotches
-radial streaming
-negative network
-scar-like depigmentation

foto6a.JPG

In a 66-year-old woman, on the forearm

What to see at dermoscopy:

-erythema and areas of scar-like depigmentation
-vascular polymorphism (lineal and glomerular vessels)
-blotches
-hiperkeratosis at the bottom of the lesion
-within the lesion, faint network
Biopsy was indicated
Histopathological correlation: hyperthrophic actinic keratosis

Comments:  Actinic keratosis is often diagnosed by clinical examination and sometimes dermoscopy provides no additional diagnostic benefit. Any lesion suspicious of actinic keratosis with pronounced hyperkeratosis, induration, erythema, or nodularity should be biopsied to rule out progression to invasive squamous cell carcinoma.

In a 53-year-old man, on the back

What to see at dermoscopy:

-dark and regular pigment network
-the network lines end abruptly at the edges of the lesion giving a sharply demarcated border
-structureless areas
-regression areas (melanosis or peppering)
Dermoscopy in favor of solar lentigo and histopathology confirmed the diagnosis

What to see at dermoscopy:

-ulcerated lesion with congealed blood
-scar-like depigmentation
-arborizing and fine telangectasias
-erythema
Biopsy was indicated
Histolopathological correlation: nodular basal cell carcinoma
