In a 57-year-old woman, on the back

What to see at dermoscopy:

-multicomponent pattern
-atypical pigment network
-negative pigment network
-regression areas (scar-like depigmentation)
-structureless areas
-hypopigmented areas
-vascular polymorphism
-erythema

Extirpation was indicated. Dermoscopy in favor of melanoma.

In a 63-year-old man, on the back

What to see at dermoscopy:

-multicomponent pattern
-atypical pigment network
-negative pigment network (circle)
-regression area (scar-like depigmentaton) [arrow]
-structureless areas
-hypopigmented areas

Dermoscopy in favor of melanoma and histopathology confirmed the diagnosis.

Patient 194

In a 55-year-old woman, on the shoulder

What to see at dermoscopy:

-lesion greater than 5 mm
-atypical reticular pattern (some areas with broadened pigment network)
-globules (rares)
-hypopigmented areas
-structureless area

Extirpation was indicated. Histopathology correlation was: lentiginous junctional nevus

In a 37-year-old man, on the trunk (3 different lesions)

What to see at dermoscopy:

-reticulo-globular  pattern
-central hypopigmented area

Dermoscopy in favor of compound nevus. Regular control was suggested.

Comments: although every lesion showed a irregular pigment network  the presence of  constant dermoscopic features consists in predominant nevus pattern.

In a 25-year-old woman, on the trunk;previous history of other nevi extirpation (including a dysplastic nevus)

What to see at dermoscopy:

-Multicomponent pattern
-Globules
-Irregular distributed dots
-Negative pigment network at the periphery of lesion
-Irregular blotches at central area
-Blue-white veil
-Perifollicular hypopigmentation
-Hypopigmented areas
Extirpation was suggested and histology correlation was: compound nevus
