In a 55-year-old woman, on the shoulder

What to see at dermoscopy:

-lesion greater than 5 mm
-atypical reticular pattern (some areas with broadened pigment network)
-globules (rares)
-hypopigmented areas
-structureless area

Extirpation was indicated. Histopathology correlation was: lentiginous junctional nevus

In a 55-year-old woman, on the arm

What to see at dermoscopy:

-multicomponent pattern
-irregular and broadned pigment network
-globules
-blotches
-hypopigmented and structureless area
-blue-white veil
-regression areas (scar-like depigmentation)
-erythema
-red lacunae on the left side of lesion (second dermascopic picture)
Excision was indicated and histology confirmed the diagnosis of melanoma in situ

Comments: the image of red lacunae might correspond to a cherry hemangioma (collision tumor).

In a 36-year-old woman, on the thigh

What to see at dermoscopy:

a multicomponent pattern is observed:
-asymmetrical pigmentation pattern: eccentric hyperpigmentation (blotch)
-broadened pigment network
-globules
-irregular hypopigmentation
-target-like structures
Excision was indicated
Dermoscopy signs in favor of melanoma

Comments: Arevalo A et al observed that eccentric hyperpigmentation and multicomponent pattern are significant predictors of melanoma when other melanoma features are present.

In a 26-year-old woman, on the supraclavicular fossa

What to see at dermoscopy:

-atypical broadened pigment network
-pseudopods
-peripheral black dots
-blue-white veil
-multiple colors
-scar-like depigmentation
Excision was indicated.
Histopathological correlation: superficial spreading melanoma

In a 57-year-old man, on the upper back

What to see at dermoscopy:

a multicomponent pattern is observed:
-atypical broadened pigment network
-pseudopods and radial streaming
-peripheral black dots
-blue-gray fine dots (peppering)
-blue-white veil
-multiple colors
-irregular hypopigmentation
-scar-like depigmentation
Excision was indicated.
Histopathological correlation: melanoma in situ
