In a 54-year-old woman, on the face (persistence of lesion after topical TCA)

What to see at dermoscopy:

-irregular annular-granular pattern [pseudonetwork] (circle)
-strawberry appearence

Although Dermoscopy was in favor of actinic keratosis biopsy over the pigmented site was indicated. Irregular annular-pattern should raise the suspicion of lentigo maligna

In a 50-year-old man, on the thigh

What to see at dermoscopy:

-reticulo-globular pattern
-irregularly distributed dots (circle)
-blue-white veil that covers all lesion

Dermoscopy in favor of dermal nevi and histopathology confirmed the diagnosis

Comments: The presence of irregular dots justified extirpation
to rule out a melanoma arising from melanocytic nevi

In a 17-year-old man, on the nail apparatus (recent onset)

What to see at dermoscopy:

- 3 mm wide pigmented lesion
-brown background and blurred margins
-brown longitudinal lines with irregular spacing and thickness; parallelism disruption in the middle portion of lesion
-dots

Although some clinical aspects of the melanonychia striata (MS) (young patient and width of lesion) are in favor of nail matrix nevus, some dermoscopy features (blurred margins and parallelism disruption of brown longitudinal lines) associated with the involvement of a single digit and abrupt onset of MS suggest melanoma. Biopsy was indicated.

Comments: considering MS in children, black dots similar to those discribed in skin melanocytic lesions are frequently observed

In a 46-year-old man, on the back

What to see at dermoscopy:

-Multicomponent pattern
-Blue-white veil
-Clustered dots at periphery (circle)
-Chrysalys structures (arrows)
-Scar-like depigmentation
-Telangectasia over the regression area
-Erythema

Dermoscopy in favor of Melanoma and histology confirmed the diagnosis.

In a 25-year-old woman, on the trunk;previous history of other nevi extirpation (including a dysplastic nevus)

What to see at dermoscopy:

-Multicomponent pattern
-Globules
-Irregular distributed dots
-Negative pigment network at the periphery of lesion
-Irregular blotches at central area
-Blue-white veil
-Perifollicular hypopigmentation
-Hypopigmented areas
Extirpation was suggested and histology correlation was: compound nevus
