What to see at dermoscopy:
-branched streaks and dots
-blotches
-hypopigmented and structureless area
-melanosis or peppering
Extirpation was indicated and histology confirmed a melanoma in situ

In a 49-year-old man, with atypical mole syndrome, on the abdominal wall; personal history of melanoma in situ excision on the upper back
What to see at dermoscopy:
-irregular pigment network
-irregular hypopigmented areas
-structureless areas
-branched streak
-terminal hair
-erythema
-comedo-like opening
Excision was indicated
Histopathological correlation: mild dysplastic nevus

In a 64-year-old man, on the shoulder
What to see at dermoscopy:
A multicomponent pattern is observed:
-irregular and prominent pigment network; at some areas the pigment network ends abruptly; branched streaks
-Irregularly distributed and shaped brown globules
-dots
-areas of regression (scar-like depigmentation)
-erythema corresponds to previous biopsy site
Excision was indicated.
Histopathological correlation: severe dysplastic nevus
