Present complaint: a 64-year-old woman experienced muscle weekness of the shoulder girdle

Physical examination: Heliotrope erythema and edema of the lower lid

Laboratory: increased creatine kinase level

What to see at Capillaroscopy:

-disorganization of the normal capillary array
-ramified/bushy capillaries (white arrow)
-loss of capillaries with avascular areas (gray arrow)

Comments: capillaroscopy in favor of late scleroderma pattern. Additional studies (eletctromyography and muscle biopsy) were suggested to confirm the diagnosis of dermatomyositis

What to see at dermoscopy:

-blue-gray ovoid nests and blue-gray globules
-structureless areas (erythema)
-fine and arboriform telangectasias
-ulceration
-blue-white veil

Dermoscopy in favor of basal cell carcinoma and histology confirmed diagnosis

In a 56-year-old man, on the trunck

What to see at dermoscopy:

-arborizing telangectasias (gray arrow)
-ulceration (white arrow)
-multiple blue-gray ovoid nests (circle)
-scar-like depigmentation and blue-white veil
-black crusts
-erythema

Dermoscopy in favor of basal cell carcinoma and histopathology confirmed the diagnosis (nodular subtype)

In a 71-year-old woman, on the back

What to see at dermoscopy:

-ulcerated lesion with congealed blood
-scar-like depigmentation
-arborizing and fine telangectasias
-erythema
Biopsy was indicated
Histolopathological correlation: nodular basal cell carcinoma

In a 42-year-old man, on the forehead

What to see at dermoscopy:

-arborizing vessels and fine telangectasias
-blue-gray globules
-scar-like depigmentation
-ulceration with congealed blood
-erythema
-chrysalis structures

Biopsy was suggested.
Histopathology correlation:
basal cell carcinoma with follicular differentiation
